Still Waters

The obsessive world of athleticism and the oppressiveness of an abusive relationship merge in this psychological drama about power, envy and control.

The Swimmer is a woman with no name. Her most valuable asset are her legs, powerful from years of physical training. Her husband, Daniel, is an ex swimmer whose ability to use his legs is slowly diminishing. He has since become The Swimmer’s coach and is vicariously living through her.

Daniel convinces fellow coaches that The Swimmer deserves to represent the club at a national championship after another swimmer, Amanda, is seriously injured. Whilst The Swimmer trains for the championship, questions are raised on the truth surrounding the cause of Amanda’s injury.

As Daniel continues to struggle with his condition, he grows increasingly envious and obsessive over The Swimmer, attempting to take control of her entire life.
